DESSERT MUSEUM MANILA: A SCRUMPTIOUSLY EXPERIENCE
Are you addicted to sweets?
Yes, I am addicted to sweets.
I really consider of having a room of full of sweet foods but this place was beyond my dreams and imagination which turns to reality. And its HEAVEN!!
This is called THE DESSERT MUSEUM where there are 8 mouthwatering rooms of sugar-filled of happiness. There are lots of museum in the Philippines but this museum is superb and amazing.
The museum provides sparse educational experience about the history of the desserts they feature of every guided tour.
THE EXPERIENCE
Before you enjoy and taste the scrumptious desserts, you have to present the ticket that you bought online to the reception (you can buy through walk in) and you’ll be given a digital wristband that you would be using inside. The tour is done by scheduled and batches to avoid overcrowding. There’s a tour guide in each room who will be sharing information about the featured item. You will be given a time to enjoy and have a photo-ops before you move on the next.
1.DONUT JUDGE OUR DIET
This is my personal favorite because I love donuts!
As the tour starts with a slide through a donut hole, you will be welcome by a lot of donuts everywhere in the room. You can see yellow donuts with pink frosting hanging from the ceiling and mural of the history how donuts are made.
Photo: be careful and watch your head these donuts are not real and not fluffy!
Well, if you consider a good profile picture or IG Feed, there’s a donut wall that makes a good back drop.
2.CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF…MARSHMALLOWS
A thousand of marshmallows is heaven for me!
From ceiling to wall, a huge, little and soft marshmallows, I wish I can eat those but it’s not edible.
Good thing, you will be given edible ones. You can dip it and choose on different fondues, is it STRAWBERRY or Chocolate?
But before you eat, you have to scan your digital wristband.
3. ARE YOU NAUGHTY OR NICE?
As you make your way out of marshmallow room, you have to make choice.. NAUGHTY OR NICE?
Pink for Naughty and Blue for Nice.
The room is divided into two, Blue side has a jumping rope where you can have a picture while jumping and the other side which is the Pink has colorful shelves full of balls.
At the middle of the room, there’s a seesaw colored in pink and blue. Pick your color! and take a pose.
4. BE COOL IN THE ICE CREAM ROOM
The ice cream room welcomes you with a ceiling installation of balloons and ice cream cones.
A mural of overloaded scoop of ice cream.
Take a pose in the ice cream cone that is carried by balloons like in Disney’s UP.
While enjoying, take time to read some trivia.
5. BUBBLE ROOM
This room features a large gumball machine where you can enter, play and surrounded by swirling balls for photo op.
I thought at first this is for kids but also for kids at heart! The machine allows 3-4 persons only.
me and my niece
6. GUMMY BEAR ROOM
This is the most interactive room- The Gummy Bear Room.
This room has four human size bear forms and miniatures bath tubs filled with more plastic balls.
Lastly, the Trampolines! Better use with Boomerang App.
7. COTTON CANDY ROOM
A pink cloud of cotton candy in a tree like forms. It looks yummy but it cannot be swallow.
Don’t worry, scan your wristband and you have a real Cotton Candy!
8. CAKE POPS
An eight gigantic cake pop are suspended upside down like in Stranger Things!
It looks delicious and mouth-watering chocolate balls.
But you can sit and sing of “I came like a Wrecking Ball”.
But there’s more! A basket ball ring where you can shoot and play basketball!
The Sweetest Conclusion
I had fun going around, eat and take photo for a two hour tour and it’s worth it. This is more likely a mini playground- slash- photo studio for fun loving kids, kids at heart and IG- dwelling millennial who have a big appetite for quirky pictures like me. Dessert museum is an ideal place to visit for photo spots, visual delights and fun time with friends or family.
